Endo Excision: Day 50

It's been just over a week since we got home from Denver and it's been a rough one. My body felt so much better in Denver! As soon as we came home, I was way more swollen and back to feeling more like my recovery during week 3 than actual week 6. A lot of those week 3 symptoms came back. And it turns out, that's not really in my head! People (other spoonies included) told me that even their doctors have told them that higher altitude locations actually CAN help with chronic pain and inflammation. Who knew?! Michigan is at least HALF my problem?! face palm
I'm also noticing that my body is becoming more sensitive to sugary foods/drinks. I seem to be bloating VERY easily when I consume them. I've always had this problem - for decades - but I'm noticing it right away in the morning now.
While we were in Denver, I never got my hands on a non-dairy creamer any morning. So I was just putting 1 packet of "sugar in the raw" in it. I very rarely bloated in Denver and if I did, I knew it was because I ate gluten. Which I only did once.
So then when we got back, I went back to my normal coffee habits, which is maybe a tablespoon of Planet Oat oat milk creamer in my mug. I noticed I was IMMEDIATELY bloated after drinking the cup. So after a few days, I realized this could be a pattern of just too much sugar all at once. And sure enough, after a few days of only putting a teaspoon of creamer in my coffee, there was a clear difference. So hey, I learned something! I'm hoping this is still a part of my surgery recovery and not a more permanent reaction. But we'll just have to see.
In any case, I'm feeling mostly better today. Maybe finally as ok as I did right before we left. But I am also back to working part-time. I'm attempting to stream Mondays + Wednesdays while also sticking to my IRL Thursday schedule (sessions/lessons and then the band stream). I think it'll do me good for now.
Next up on my health docket is my D&C (dilation and curettage; taking a sample of my uterine wall for biopsy) and hysteroscopy (looking inside my uterus) scheduled for Wednesday, July 23. I have to plan to be out of work a few days for this as I know it's quite invasive. And yes, I am paying $400 for the anesthesia they don't automatically offer.
AND as of this morning, I have my post-op 3-month ultrasound scheduled as well as my follow-up to that with Dr. Zaidan! I'm checking all the boxes today LOL
As for my improvements, I've noticed a continual decrease in jaundice in my face, to the point where I literally only put concealer under my eyes if I'm going to be on stage. CRAZY. I've also noticed my brain fog has mostly lifted. ALSO CRAZY. I'm not at 100% functionality but I'd say somewhere around 80%! Prior to surgery, my brain fog had gotten incredibly severe. I struggled to work for even 3-4 hours in a day because the fatigue/fog was so bad prior and after. So it's a breath of fresh air to realize my brain is functioning better now, even though my body isn't 100% just yet.
Even with last week's setbacks, I believe I'm still on a good path to recovery as well as a good path to my hysterectomy, which I'd love to get cleared for in August. We'll all just have to wait and see!
